In order to offer you a safe stay with us, the 3-G rules (vaccinated, recovered, tested) have been in force since 13 September 2021 for your visit to the La Montgolfière bar or the Hangar 9 restaurant for breakfast or dinner, as well as for access to the fitness room.

If you do not meet one of the 3-G rules, the Grand Casino Basel next door offers the possibility to take an antigen test on site for CHF 25.00 (result within 15 minutes). Please note that payment is only possible in cash and suitably on site in CHF or €.

Protection Concept COVID-19 Airport Hotel Basel AG

Basic rules

  • All persons in the company, guests and the Airport Hotel Basel team, wear a face mask in indoor areas accessible to the public.
  • All persons in the company clean their hands regularly. Avoid touching objects and surfaces as far as possible.
  • Employees and other persons keep a distance of 1.5 metres from each other.
  • Regular cleaning of surfaces and objects after use as required, especially if they are touched by several people.
  • Send sick people home and instruct them to follow the (self-)isolation procedures according to the FOPH.
  • Food and drinks may only be consumed while seated (only inside).

Face masks

  • Every person must wear a face mask in indoor areas accessible to the public. This does not apply to guests who are seated at a table. A face mask must be worn when people are on their way to a table or going to the toilets.
  • The obligation to wear a face mask in publicly accessible indoor areas also applies to staff working there, unless effective protection against infection is ensured by special protective devices (plastic or glass screens).
  • Wearing a face mask does not change the other protective measures provided. In particular, the required distance must be kept as far as possible even when wearing a mask.
  • Face masks include respirators, hygiene masks and textile masks that provide sufficient protection.
  • Children before their 12th birthday are exempt from the obligation to wear masks, as are persons who can prove that they cannot wear face masks for special reasons, especially medical reasons.

Hand hygiene

  • All persons in the workplace must clean their hands regularly. Avoid touching objects and surfaces as much as possible.

Measures

  • Hand hygiene stations: Guests must wash their hands with soap and water or disinfect with a hand disinfectant when entering the establishment.
  • All persons in the establishment wash their hands regularly with soap and water. This is especially important before arrival and before and after breaks.
  • Hands must always be washed or disinfected before carrying out the following tasks: Setting tables, folding napkins and polishing cutlery.
  • After clearing the tables, employees wash or disinfect their hands before touching clean dishes again.

Keeping a distance

  • Employees and other persons should keep a distance of 1.5 metres from each other.

Measures

  • There is no physical contact between guests and staff. 
  • A distance of 1.5 metres is maintained between groups of guests to the front and side "shoulder-to-shoulder" and a distance of 1.5 metres from table edge to table edge to the rear "back-to-back".
  • Airport Hotel Basel AG ensures that waiting guests can maintain the minimum distance of 1.5 metres from other guests.
  • Airport Hotel Basel AG places floor markings in waiting areas to ensure and guide compliance with the minimum distance of 1.5 metres between groups of guests.
  • In principle, no minimum distances apply to guests or staff when moving from one place to another in guest rooms and outside seating areas.
  • Airport Hotel Basel AG will ensure that the minimum distance of 1.5 metres can be maintained in WC facilities (e.g. by blocking off individual urinals), lounges and changing rooms and other staff rooms.
  • Seating in seminar rooms of the enterprise has a minimum distance of 1.5 metres.

Cleaning

  • Regular cleaning of surfaces and objects after use as required, especially if they are touched by several people.

Measures

  • Surfaces and objects (e.g. work surfaces, keyboards, cash registers, telephones, coat hangers) are cleaned regularly with a professional cleaning agent or disinfectant, especially if they are shared.
  • Door handles, lift knobs, stair railings, armrests of chairs, coffee machines, kitchen utensils used, and other work material used by more than one person are regularly - depending on use, but at least 1 x daily - professionally cleaned or disinfected. WC facilities are cleaned and disinfected after each shift (but at least 2 x daily). A cleaning log is kept for all areas.
  • Staff wear gloves when handling waste and dirty laundry. Gloves are disposed of immediately after use and staff wash their hands thoroughly after handling waste and dirty laundry.
  • Open waste bins are emptied several times a day.
  • Waste bags are not manually squeezed.
  • Work clothes are changed daily and washed after use with commercially available detergent.
  • Airport Hotel Basel AG ensures a regular and sufficient exchange of air in work and guest rooms (e.g. ventilate 4 times a day for approx. 10 minutes).
  • Menu cards and trays are cleaned or disinfected after each guest.
  • Cutlery and crockery (even when not in use) are cleaned in the dishwasher if possible (not by hand). Washing cycles are carried out at temperatures above 60 °C.
